Kathy Shaner Critique

Sunday morning, May 21, our guest artist Kathy Shaner conducted a short “walking critique” of the show. She didn’t critique individual trees so much as she used examples from the show’s display to discuss finer points of the art of bonsai display.

This was a true critique, given artist to artist, because she wasn’t criticizing the work that had been done setting up the display. After all, she was responsible for that herself! She had spent hours Friday afternoon and Saturday morning setting trees, stands, and accent plants in place.

This was a teaching moment for all of us.
